The ruling regime, adopting tactics that echo the darkest days of history, sought to divide and conquer by employing fear and creating fake political parties—third-party splinters designed to siphon votes from the powerful PTR-MMM-ND-ReA bloc. Their aim was clear: weaken the opposition, fracture the vote, and ensure that democracy was nothing but a puppet show controlled by the elite.
This tactic, reminiscent of Hitler’s desperate V2 missile campaigns in the twilight of his reign, was a final attempt to subdue the inevitable—a people’s movement for real change.
But it didn’t work.

Threats of acid attacks on faces, imprisonment without cause, constant surveillance by intelligence agencies, and even death threats became daily occurrences.
