Say what you want about Alan Ganoo—the guy works like hell for his voters. Even after having reached the zenith and sitting in the seat as the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, he cannot stop himself from going on to the streets, meeting people to hear their complaints, building houses and roads, attending church, sponsoring football, and building Kanwar for Mahashivratee. How does he do it? Or the more appropriate question should be: Why don’t other politicians follow his example?
- On Monday, he is attending a religious ceremony in a Black River Marathi Paawan Ganesh Mandir. The same day, he is visiting the poor in Carré D’As and supervising animal rights sterilization at the MSAW at Kennedy’s residence.
- On Tuesday, he is distributing school supplies in Bambous for the inhabitants, campaigning to protect pedestrians on the roads, and meeting his followers at night to hear their complaint with Tania Diolle.
- On Wednesday, he is either building roads or the rail networks in Port Louis, sponsoring football tournaments at La Saline Riviere Noire, or meeting Laureat with gifts in Chemin Grenier.
- On Thursday, he is sponsoring an event for Women’s Day with 1000 people attending and he doesn’t even boast about it unlike others.
- On Friday, he is gifting beds, mattresses, and toys for the kids, sharing either happy birthdays or prayers on Facebook while preparing food stocks for the poor in case of a potential cyclone or rainfall in Mauritius.
What does this guy eat for breakfast? He should definitely share his recipe with other politicians. At first glance, Alan Ganoo has set the standards very high for a politician, let alone an acting Minister.
But, with a closer look, one would find that Alan Ganoo’s secret to success is that he has surrounded himself with dedicated people working hard for him, like his staff of advisors, his personal assistants and even his bodyguard . Hats off.
