Minister Bholah effects site visits to encourage entrepreneurs. The Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives, Mr Soomilduth Bholah, effected site visits, yesterday, at CDM Furniture in Caroline, and at the sheltered farming of an entrepreneur, in Ecroignard. In a statement, Minister Bholah urged the director of CDM Furniture to maintain progress, emphasising the importance of upholding quality, durability, and reliability in product manufacturing to meet customer demands. He also affirmed Government’s commitment to providing ongoing support and necessary facilities for such enterprises, thus recognising their role as vital contributors to economic growth. Speaking about sheltered farming, the Minister underlined its distinctive qualities, particularly its efficacy in shielding plants from cyclones, adverse weather, and harmful bacteria and viruses. Highlighting the importance of local production, he praised the effectiveness of such farming in yielding quality vegetables and commended the dedication of the entrepreneur. He thus encouraged people to invest in similar activities, which can result in rapid and profitable returns. Additionally, Minister Bholah dwelt on the courses offered by SME Mauritius Ltd and the National Cooperative College to support entrepreneurs, particularly in plant cultivation. As far as the rise in vegetable prices is concerned, observed the Minister, two Organisations are working on a plan to provide training on planting techniques and ensuring healthy growth. He moreover underlined that besides grants from SME Mauritius Ltd, other Ministries are also offering various facilities to bolster such enterprises
